Drums, Percussion, & Backing Vocals

It was June 1979, the music at the time were mainly disco hits and “Minute by Minute” by the Doobie Brothers.

As a 12 year old boy in Northern Kentucky wanting to be a drummer wasn’t too encouraging by any means with the music of the day .

I needed a powerhouse performance to inspire me.

In walked in drummers like John Bonham, Carl Palmer, Steve Smith, Peter Criss, and the one and only, Neil Peart.

Overwhelmed by these performers, I wanted to be one of these Greats.

“Ha”, I have a long way to go. But I worked as hard as I could.

Being involved in school band, different bands though out my teen years and low and behold being asked to be in a working band at the age of 19.

The ups and downs of being hired and fired by all kinds of musicians did mold my persona to a positive effect.

You always learn by your mistakes!!!

“What the Hell am I’m doing?” 1979 (Snare Drum was used in the recording)

My set up: drums, cymbals, and percussion. It includes:
Yamaha toms
Ludwig snares
Zildjian cymbals
An assortment of chimes, agogo bells, cowbells, tambourines, shakers, and a specially constructed rain stick created by Bob Burns.
